HADARS will be operating from Hollym Airfield for the RSGB VHF National Field Day 2026.
The site offers an excellent open take-off point for VHF and UHF antennas, with the sea
literally a stone’s throw away.

About the Site
Hollym Airfield is a flat, grassed and well-kept site, making it a strong location
for portable radio operations. Its open surroundings and coastal position should provide
an excellent take-off point for the antennas.
The site has clean facilities and provides good access for visitors.
Planned Radio Activity
- Bands planned: 23cm, 70cm, 2m, 4m and 6m
- Antennas: VHF and UHF beam antennas, including Moxon antennas for 4m and 6m
- Activity: Portable contest station for RSGB VHF National Field Day
Visitors Welcome
Members, visitors and anyone interested in amateur radio are welcome to come along,
see the station in operation and find out more about VHF and UHF contesting.
This is a great opportunity to see portable amateur radio operating from a strong
coastal location.
